Vale Of Evesham Launch Night

Vale Of Evesham YFC Launch Night Was A Great Success!

The night went extremely well with around 40 new potential members turning up ranging in age from 10 years up to 25 years old. The weather was beautiful and allowed us all to get acquainted through a game of rounders which saw some interesting bowling and batting techniques!

We played rounders for about 30minutes and then had a brief interlude for some food, some lovely locally sourced burgers and sausages and a couple of soft drinks to rejuvenate us for the deciding rounders match. Sarah-Jayne Dunsby and Meg Beynon-Brown took this opportunity to deliver a short speech on what they hoped to achieve as a club and to thank everyone for turning up.

Katie Ainsworth(Youth Development Leader) and Michael McPherson (Vice County Chairman) of Worcestershire Federation Of Young Farmers Clubs also welcomed the new members and gave a brief speech on what young farmers is all about and a few dates for the dairy.

We then carried on with our rounders match followed by a successful raffle helping to raise some much needed money to help towards the club funds.

Sarah-Jayne Dunsby the Vale Of Evesham Club Leader says “We are so happy with how well the evening has gone. There were a lot of new faces and we are really looking forward to the year ahead with the great support from everyone in the community. If anyone would like to get involved but couldn’t make the launch night,we are holding an indoor fun and games evening and short presentation on Wednesday 2nd October, Wickhamford Village Hall, 7.30pm.”

Katie Ainsworth says “ The girls have worked really hard to get this club up and running for the residents of Evesham and should be really proud of themselves. With over 40 potential new members turning up this is a sure sign that Evesham is ready and in need of another youth organization. We as the County are really looking forward to working with the Vale Of Evesham YFC and hope that they will go from strength to strength.”
